So, we’re proud to announce that our organization has been named one of the 50 Best Places to Work for New Dads by Fatherly, a digital lifestyle guide for young parents.VMware came in number 7 on the list. The rankings considered the best paternity benefits offered by leading companies in the United States, and highlighted that VMware provides 18 weeks of full paid leave to new dads.To compile the list, Fatherly worked in tandem with preeminent experts in the field. Eligible companies had to have at least 1,000 employees and must offer a minimum of four weeks paid paternity leave.

VMware embraces Kubernetes with vSphere 7

VMware has added Kubernetes support to run containers and virtual machines simultaneously in the new vSphere release. The virtualization giant can now also offer a single management domain that covers containers and VMs in the hybrid cloud. vSphere 7, launched today, represents the first fruits of the company’s Project Pacific. Project Pacific is in turn a component of VMware parent Dell’s wider Tanzu initiative to enable its overall product set to build, run, manage, connect and protect containerised workloads alongside virtual machine workloads. VMware Tanzu Service Mesh, built on VMware NSX is Now Available

VMware marked its entry into the service mesh space with the announcement of VMware NSX Service Mesh. Today, we have some exciting developments to share. First, VMware NSX Service Mesh is now VMware Tanzu Service Mesh. This new brand aligns with the VMware Tanzu Portfolio for modern applications that we launched today. Second, and more importantly, we are announcing that Tanzu Service Mesh, built on VMware NSX is now available for purchase. Tanzu Service Mesh provides consistent connectivity and security for microservices – across all your Kubernetes clusters and clouds – in the most demanding multi-cluster and multi-cloud environments. Tanzu Service Mesh can be installed in Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG) clusters and third-party Kubernetes-conformant clusters, and used with clusters managed by Tanzu Mission Control (i.e., Tanzu-managed clusters) or clusters managed by other Kubernetes platforms and managed services.

Security Cited as Top Public Cloud Inhibitor

Barracuda Networks commissioned a survey to explore the enterprise digital transformation in which the use of public cloud computing platforms is key, seeking to gauge the impact of security roadblocks and how they can be overcome. The unsurprising results confirmed that organizations are indeed moving their computing infrastructure to public clouds, and that security is the top concern restricting faster adoption. What's more, the number of organizations that report being attacked by cybersecurity villains has increased, affecting three quarters of respondents, up from 56 percent in 2017.
