Login VSI, the industry-leading software provider of 360° proactive visibility for virtual workspaces, announced the release of Login Enterprise 5.0, the latest version of its flagship product.
This release comes with highly anticipated new features – dashboards for cost and capacity tracking that offer predictive insights to help IT organizations control cost and optimize their virtualized desktop and application environments more effectively.
As the market for cloud-based desktops and hosted applications changes, concerns regarding cost management, now and in the future, have shifted to the top of the priority list for many organizations. For years, more visibility has been needed into the capacity and, more importantly, the cost of these environments as they change over time. The dashboards included in Login Enterprise 5.0 help fill this gap by enabling IT teams to track, trend, and monitor production deployments' cost, capacity, and performance over time as environments evolve.
"Understanding the costs associated with desktop and app virtualization, both on-premises and in the cloud, has always been challenging. Login VSI's benchmarking and proactive monitoring capabilities will help customers get accurate estimates–using data from their workloads–of their costs before deploying anything. This will allow them to make data-driven decisions based on cost and price-to-performance ratios while weighing out the benefits of cloud versus on-premises workloads," says Gabe Knuth, Senior Analyst at TechTarget's Enterprise Strategy Group.
Login VSI's mission is to enhance and extend visibility into virtual desktops and applications so IT teams can make wiser, more agile, and cost-effective decisions. The real-time insight provided by the new dashboards supports cost optimization and improves performance by enabling quick issue detection and offering optics into resource utilization.
According to John Vigeant, CEO of Login VSI, "With this major release of Login Enterprise 5.0, Login VSI is the only solution in the market that brings together proactive monitoring, cost optimization, and capacity planning for virtual desktops and apps. This is the very first time in the end-user computing space that VDI and DaaS teams can identify the optimal environment to run their virtual desktop workloads from a cost and performance perspective and measure end-user experience (EUX) to price, whether on-premises or in the cloud. Early customer deployments have already resulted in more than 40% realized savings in a single month of cloud PC spend."
As an established and respected industry leader, Login VSI partners with the world's top hardware and software vendors to ensure their joint customers have the best technology available.
"I am excited to see where Login Enterprise is going. This latest release will provide data-driven metrics for dashboards that fuel the key decision-makers and enable the EUC leaders to provide reporting and justification for their technology plans for the next 1 to 3 yrs. I am glad to be a part of something that will tremendously impact the market and how decisions are driven," says Jason Willis, Practice Principal Experience at Alchemy Technology Group.
This latest release of Login Enterprise will enable partners to strengthen their business cases, improve customer satisfaction, and maximize the value delivered.

Scale Computing, the market leader in edge computing, virtualization, and hyperconverged solutions, today announced its edge video surveillance solutions have been extended to include cloud video surveillance storage with Wasabi Surveillance Cloud and the Intel® NUC Enterprise Edge Compute Built with Scale Computing. Together, Scale Computing and Wasabi deliver an edge to cloud surveillance solution that is easy to use, minimizes disruption, and allows access to video as usual, and when paired with the Intel EEC customers have a bottomless-storage, edge to cloud appliance. The company also announced its participation at ISC West in Las Vegas this week.
"Video and AI are going through a massive transformation, creating an opportunity for the industry to leverage edge technologies from companies like Scale Computing and Wasabi that enable better performance, agility, choice, and cost," said Kasia Hanson, Global Director, Video, Safety & Security Sales at Intel. "As the video surveillance and security markets continue to grow rapidly, shifting from analog video cameras, CCTV, and proprietary recording appliances to digital IP-based cameras, the demand for near real-time response is driving this need for computing power at the edge of a network. By combining the power of Intel® NUC EEC with the simplicity and reliability of Scale Computing HyperCore software, organizations have an efficient, scalable, and comprehensive edge computing solution."
"Organizations are making significant technology investments in video surveillance, and Wasabi Surveillance Cloud is a first-of-its-kind solution offered by a cloud provider that enables these organizations to offload video surveillance footage from their local storage environment directly to the cloud without ever running out of capacity," said David Boland, VP of Cloud Strategy at Wasabi. "This 'bottomless' approach to video storage, combined with Scale Computing, is vital for the surveillance industry as it struggles to manage enormous amounts of video in high resolution environments and increasingly large file sizes tied to surveillance."
Scale Computing and Wasabi combine industry-leading, on-premises edge computing with easy-to-use cloud data retention and archival to create the agile, hybrid-cloud environment needed today. With seamless integration with all major VMS providers inside of Wasabi Surveillance Cloud, Scale Computing is now able to expand to organizations' needs for critical video surveillance at the edge to the cloud.
"We're seeing a lot of security organizations and businesses beginning to adopt cloud storage as a way to reduce video storage complexity and costs. As they do so, one of the main obstacles that they face is converting the file-based format to a cloud object storage format," said Scott Loughmiller, Chief Product Officer and co-founder of Scale Computing. "Organizations can now combine on-premises Scale Computing clusters and Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage, allowing recent video to be stored locally at the edge until it's moved to the cloud where it can be kept for as long as the organization needs it."

Lightbits®, the innovation leader in simple, flexible, and cost-efficient data platform solutions for any cloud, has announced that it has been accepted into the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub, a program designed to enable organizations to ideate, develop, grow, and scale their offering on the Azure cloud platform by providing the necessary resources for every stage of their cloud-first journey.
Microsoft Azure is a secure and compliant cloud platform trusted by organizations small and large, including 95% of Fortune 500 companies. As a member of the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub, Lightbits will optimize its cloud solution so that organizations running on or planning to migrate their IO-intensive workloads to Azure can do so with the confidence that it’s on a scalable, efficient, and highly performant platform.
The Lightbits Cloud Data Platform on Azure delivers agility, flexibility, high performance, and predictable and lower costs enabling migration of transactional and other latency-sensitive workloads to the cloud. The software-defined scalable architecture allows dynamic scaling of storage performance and capacity with consistently low latency and works within most orchestration environments such as Kubernetes, VMware or OpenStack. It offers the ability to provision high-performance persistent volumes to applications, protecting data from failures, while at the same time offering the rich data services enterprise IT organizations desire. Lightbits is easy to use, plugging directly into Azure Virtual Machines (VMs), and supports hybrid deployments offering the flexibility to port the license between on-premises storage servers and Azure storage-optimized VMs.
“Prior to Lightbits, organizations supporting IO-intensive applications such as SQL and NoSQL databases had two options to achieve their performance requirements on Azure: use VMs with local NVMe devices or scale out the VMs and provision more cloud-native storage. Neither option was ideal since it lacked data protection at the storage level and significantly increased overall costs,” said Kam Eshghi, Co-Founder and CSO at Lightbits. “If performance, cost, scale, or data services were limiting factors for organizations migrating their storage-intensive workloads to Azure, Lightbits removes all of those constraints and offers a better cloud experience. I’m confident that our partnership-driven approach and involvement in the Founders Hub will result in a well-architected complete data platform for Azure.”
