Azure Named Preferred Cloud BI Provider in New Report

Virtualization Review | April 02, 2020

At least in one area, Microsoft's Azure has upended perennial cloud computing leader AWS: business intelligence. "Microsoft Azure is the most preferred cloud BI provider, followed by Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud," says Dresner Advisory Services in the 2020 edition of its continuing research, titled "Cloud Computing and Business Intelligence Market Study." addressing cloud BI provider preference, Dresner said, "We asked respondents to rank their preferred (named) third-party cloud BI provider. In our 2020 sample, Microsoft Azure receives the strongest endorsement, with 44 percent expressing critical importance and 77 percent reporting either critical or very important relevance. Amazon Web Services is the second choice with 33 percent critical and 66 percent combined critical and very important relevance. Google Cloud is the third choice with 22 percent critical and 41 percent combined critical and very important scores."

Code42 Incydr Supports Leading Desktop-as-a-Service Offerings and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure Solutions

Code42 | September 26, 2022

Code42 Software, Inc., the Insider Risk Management (IRM) leader, today announced its Incydr product fully supports all major Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments. The Code42® Incydr™ product detects when valuable and sensitive files are moved to untrusted locations, including personal email and cloud accounts, and removable media – and allows security teams to quickly respond in order to stop data leaks and theft. According to a recent survey of IT professionals published by Citrix, nearly 70% of organizations are planning to implement VDIs to accommodate hybrid or remote work strategies, with just under 60% accelerating the adoption of cloud tools. Though DaaS and VDI solutions help security teams better protect against vulnerabilities, malicious actors and other external threats, they do little to reduce the risk from insiders, as virtual environments inherently depend on cloud tools. “We’ve seen a notable uptick in the number of teams that have deployed DaaS and VDI solutions throughout their environments. Given the continued popularity of bring-your-own-device (BYOD) and remote work, coupled with an unstable hardware supply chain, we absolutely expect this trend to continue, In virtual-first organizations where there is pervasive use of cloud collaboration tools, such as Git, Salesforce, GDrive, OneDrive and iCloud, Incydr wraps a layer of protection around data put at risk by insiders, complementing solutions that focus on external threats and malicious actors.” Rob Juncker, CTO of Code42 Code42 Incydr: The Industry’s Leading Data Security Product for Exfiltration Detection and Response Incydr is an Insider Risk Management solution that provides the visibility, context and controls needed to stop data leak and IP theft. Organizations utilize Incydr to detect and respond to data exposure and exfiltration from corporate computer, cloud and email systems. It deploys in hours so security teams can address material risk to the business in a matter of days and drive the secure work habits needed to decrease how often employees put data at risk in the future. Code42 Instructor: Education-Led Insider Risk Response The Code42 Instructor™ micro-learning solution improves Insider Risk awareness by focusing on the creation of holistic, security-oriented cultures. The solution delivers actionable, hyper-targeted and bite-sized video lessons to end-users when they’re needed most, helping to change security behavior for the long term. The Instructor solution helps organizations rapidly mature their Insider Risk Management programs by incorporating data-driven Insider Risk behavioral guidance for end-users. Combining the Power of Incydr and Instructor Instructor works in tandem with Incydr, allowing security, compliance and education teams to immediately send corrective video lessons triggered by employee actions that create risk for the business. For example, when Incydr flags file movement to an untrusted location, like an unauthorized cloud application, an Instructor video specifically explaining the correct activity is sent to educate the employee in real-time through the Incydr solution. Code42 Services: Measure, Manage, Mitigate IRM technology is simpler and faster to deploy than other technologies, such as DLP and CASB, but it does require a strategy and mindset shift. Insider Risk Management isn’t only about data – it’s about a company’s employees and culture. Code42 IRM Services are designed to help organizations establish an efficient and effective IRM program rooted in transparency, training and technology. Code42’s services take a collaborative approach to helping organizations develop, operationalize, and mature an end-to-end IRM program. About Code42 Code42 is the leader in Insider Risk Management (IRM), offering end-to-end data loss detection and response solutions. The Code42 Incydr product is native to the cloud and rapidly detects data exposure, loss, leak and theft as well as speeds incident response – all without lengthy deployments, complex policy management or blocking employee productivity. Accelerating the effectiveness of Insider Risk programs are the Code42 Instructor microlearning solution, and Code42’s full suite of expert services. With Code42, security professionals can protect corporate data and reduce insider risk while fostering an open and collaborative culture for employees. Designed to meet regulatory control requirements, Code42’s IRM solution is FEDRAMP authorized and can be configured for GDPR, HIPAA, PCI and other compliance frameworks. Innovative organizations, including the fastest-growing security companies, rely on Code42 to safeguard their ideas. Founded in 2001, the company is headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and backed by Accel Partners, JMI Equity, NewView and Split Rock Partners. Code42 has played a defining role in developing a vision and requirements for the IRM category – now recognized by Gartner, IDC and Forrester – and is a founding member of the annual Insider Risk Summit and Insider Risk Community. The Company has several offices across the United States and its clients include large multinational organizations, such as Crowdstrike, Exabeam, BAYADA Home Health Care, Juniper Networks, Lending Club, MacDonald-Miller, MACOM, North Highland, Ping Identity, Shape Technologies, Snowflake, University of Georgia, User Testing, UTEX and Xactly.

guardDog.ai VMware Architect Russell Hamker to Present at 2022 VMware Explore

guardDog.ai | August 20, 2022

Guard Dog Solutions, Inc., dba guardDog.ai, and VMware have disclosed further details of the company’s participation at VMware Explore 2022 in the Moscone Center in San Francisco Aug. 29 – Sept. 1, in booth 1914. Attendees who would like to have private appointments can sign up and gather more information at guardDog.ai/vmware. guardDog.ai VMware Architect Russell Hamker will be speaking on how to create VMs (Virtual Machines) from 100 percent code on Thursday, Sept. 1, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 PM PDT at Moscone West, Level 2, Room 2005. In this session Hamker will join VMware Spring Developer Advocate DaShaun Carter in demonstrating how to build and deploy a Linux VM, how to patch the system, and how to install extra packages including Docker, Kubernetes and VMware Tanzu. At Booth 1914, guardDog.ai will be teaching organizations of all sizes how to increase their cybersecurity wellness by training and deploying existing IT staff members to become Attack Surface Monitors in less than one hour. As the award-winning leader in real-time cyber security protection for business and consumers, guardDog.ai is using VMware’s Tanzu containerization technology to support hardware-free and entirely remote deployment and management of cyber security protection for any size MSSP (Managed Security Service Providers) or organization. guardDog’s subscription-based FiDo technology uses patent-pending artificial intelligence from the company’s cloud-based Autonomous Incident Response (AiR) database to pre-emptively recognize all devices connected to a network including most especially the IoT (Internet of Things) and smart device connections device management solutions can’t see. The solution exposes and shuts down most cybersecurity threats before exploits can happen, protecting users and organizations from threats such as ransomware, man-in-the-middle attacks, denial of service, and emerging novel threats, protecting networks and the devices attached to them. “This year’s VMware conference is making its first return as a live event since the COVID pandemic began, We are pleased to play a role in making the 2022 event an extremely notable one as we announce our partnership with VMware as well as our use of the containerization architecture exemplified in VMware Tanzu as one of the key virtualizations models we are advancing to allow the remote deployment and management of thousands of FiDo implementations from a single location.” Peter Bookman, CEO and founder of guardDog.ai guardDog.ai uses AI-driven overlay technology in FiDo to find and protect users and networks from attempted cyberattacks in less than two milliseconds, by identifying the threats that device and network management solutions can’t see and proactively halting potential exploits before they begin. In both wired and Wi-Fi networks, FiDo protects network and the device users from threats across the entire Attack Surface, and most especially within the edge territory outside the perimeter of the network or on attached devices that other solutions cannot see. These include the myriad of IoT (Internet of Things) devices such as specialized health monitoring equipment, printers, doorbells, thermostats, smart refrigerators, smart pens, smart TVs, and game systems that are inherently vulnerable to the networks they join. Thanks to the VMware partnership and implementation, the ability to obtain and deploy virtualized FiDo technology also ends supply chain issues of availability delays, while allowing for instant and continual updates to the AiR database of known threats and suspicious network behavior. For all implementations, the virtualized alternatives for guardDog’s FiDo v3 technology are making it possible to cover all areas of the potential Attack Surface with far greater economy and ease than before. About guardDog.ai Guard Dog Solutions Inc., headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, (dba guardDog.ai) has developed a cloud-based Autonomous Incident Response (AiR) cyber security software service that works together with a companion FiDo unit to simplify network security. The solution provides protection and visibility as it exposes invisible threats on networks and the devices attached to them, with patented technology to address and prevent cybersecurity threats before they compromise network environments. Every business, government, healthcare institution, home consumer, or other organization, is grappling to find security solutions that are adapting to this changing world. guardDog.ai is pioneering new innovations designed to meet these challenges. In 2022, guardDog.ai is expanding its reach still further to address full Attack Surface Management (ASM) and ASM-as-a-Service (ASMaaS) as cyber security’s next horizon. Additional virtual deployments for guardDog.ai are now available through methods such as clusters of open development based on containers, via Kubernetes orchestration, and through other industry partnerships. This makes guardDog.ai hardware agnostic and will provide IT staff, IT organizations and MSSPs (Managed Security Service Providers) with the ability to achieve instantaneous and unlimited deployments.
