Liteboxer Enters the Metaverse with the Launch of its Immersive Fitness Experience at CES 2022: Liteboxer VR for Meta Quest 2

Liteboxer | January 06, 2022

Liteboxer–the at-home fitness company that combines patented hardware, game dynamics, hit music, and expert training to create the world's most immersive workouts– announced its entrance into the metaverse with Liteboxer VR at CES 2022. The maiden VR fitness experience will be available on Quest 2, featuring real in-app expert trainers with new workouts daily. Liteboxer VR will also offer motivation-based competition and an extensive music library in partnership with Universal Music Group, bringing music that ranges from Lady Gaga to YG into the virtual ring.

The First VR Experience Created by Fitness Experts
Unlike other VR fitness offerings, Liteboxer VR is built to be fitness-first and champion a sports-at-home experience. With Liteboxer VR, users are immersed in real trainer-led workouts that cross the boundary of motivation into actual coaching and interaction. Instead of an exergaming video game, Liteboxer VR is a full workout experience that is built to fit into a gaming format, not the other way around.

Amp Up the Adrenaline with Head-to-Head Competition
Liteboxer VR will feature leaderboards and the ability to compete in direct challenges with friends, family or fellow Liteboxers around the world, making every workout feel like the main event. Users can initiate challenges and alert fellow Liteboxer VR users via Quest 2 that they're invited to duke it out within the metaverse, and also keep track of their performance with in-app leaderboards and personal stats. Those who wish to share their victories across social media can do so with an option to publish and share results.

eSports With All the Sweat, but No Sweaty Controller
Using its precise hand-tracking software–a first for fitness virtual reality–Liteboxer VR offers a controllerless experience, enabling users to square off in challenges with or without the additional hardware. Offering a controller-free workout, Liteboxer is launching the next generation of VR fitness today, equipping its users to enjoy an intense workout experience without the traditional need to grip bulky hardware.

Craft a Playlist Suitable for Champions
Liteboxer VR's vast music library will be refreshed daily, touting motivational Punch Tracks that push users to land blows to choreographed hit music. Contrasting its fitness app predecessors, Liteboxer VR has an added layer of curation, enabling its users to personalize a playlist song-by-song that gets their fists moving and heart pumping. Users who want to challenge their friends to the latest track by Billie Eilish or The Weeknd, or throw it back with a song by Bon Jovi, can simply select the song, send a challenge, then kick off the competition. For those who want a quick workout between meetings or before starting their day, Liteboxer VR offers quick play tracks for a one-off workout session that lasts as long as the user needs it to before throwing in the towel.

We're thrilled to bring Liteboxer VR to market, blazing a trail for the VR fitness revolution and expanding access to first-class fitness that looks to the next wave of fit-tech innovation. The dawn of the metaverse points to a demand for a deeper sense of connectivity. Virtual reality workouts connect people in a way that's more meaningful than a 2D screen on a tablet, phone or computer. With just a VR headset and your will to win, anyone can now workout anywhere in the world with the best trainers, tracks and fitness technology."

Jeff Morin, CEO and Co-founder of Liteboxer

Liteboxer VR will be available for purchase by consumers on the Quest Store beginning March 3rd, 2022, enabling users to step into the ring for a full sensory fitness experience that evokes an emotional response formerly unique to sports. Regularly priced at $18.99/month (7 Day Free Trial) for first-time Liteboxers, Liteboxer VR will be free for those who already own Liteboxer's innovative Floor Stand or Wall Mount models and subscribe to Liteboxer's membership program.

Liteboxer will be an exhibitor at CES 2022 from January 5th-8th, 2022 (booth: #54111, Sports Technology), located in Tech West at the Venetian Expo, Halls A-C. VMware Eases Hybrid Work Model Implementations with Advanced Automation

VMware | September 06, 2022

A majority of companies have implemented or plan to implement a hybrid work model moving forward.(1) However, supporting a hybrid work model creates new speed bumps for IT. VMware today outlined how autonomous workspaces powered by data science will ease this burden. It also unveiled innovations across its Anywhere Workspace platform that will inject automation into organizations’ end-user computing environments, enabling IT teams to do more with less. “The reality of hybrid work is each employee, and each device is a front door into the organization and its resources. IT must not only make that front door secure, but also welcoming as employees access apps from anywhere. The only way IT teams will be able to support hybrid work is by implementing simplified, unified, and automated processes,” said Shankar Iyer, senior vice president and general manager, End-User Computing, VMware. “Autonomous Workspaces represent the next evolution of managing digital workspaces, and VMware is once again pioneering the path forward for organizations.” Journey to Autonomous Workspaces According to Gartner®, “By 2027, unified endpoint management and digital employee experience tools will converge to drive autonomous endpoint management, reducing human effort by at least 40%.”(2) At VMware Explore 2022 US, VMware will outline the journey of digital workspace from being manual and task-centric to an outcomes-driven autonomous workspace. The future of hybrid work will drive an evolution of the digital workspace – one that injects data science and proactive automations across endpoint management, security and end-user experience. This will enable a context-aware autonomous workspace that delivers a few primary outcomes: Self-configuring: Workspaces are configured to a desired state instead of constantly monitoring for changes and enforcing reactive policies. Self-healing: The solution intelligently detect and isolate end-user experience incidents, accelerate change management, and automatically remediate issues to normal working state. Self-securing: The solution can take proactive actions to better secure workspace access, quarantine apps or devices, and remediate anomalies to enable a return to desired posture. Innovations Across Anywhere Workspace VMware Anywhere Workspace will include all tools needed to deliver autonomous workspaces. Today at VMware Explore, VMware unveiled how it is advancing self-configuring, self-healing and self-securing outcomes across four key technology areas that are delivered by the Anywhere Workspace platform: VDI and DaaS Digital Employee Experience Unified Endpoint Management Security VDI and DaaS Hybrid work is driving demand for multi-cloud VDI. VMware is introducing a next generation of VMware Horizon Cloud that will enable multi-cloud agility and flexibility. This new release represents a major update to Horizon Cloud on Microsoft Azure that can dramatically simplify the infrastructure that needs to be deployed inside customer environments, reducing infrastructure costs in some cases by over 70% while increasing scalability and reliability of VMware’s DaaS platform.(3) The new “Thin Edge” infrastructure continues to leverage the Horizon Control plane–a VMware-managed service that includes hybrid support and features like app management, universal brokering, image management, monitoring, and more. Plus, this next-gen Horizon Cloud is API-driven, so customers, partners, and ISVs will be able to build tools, services, and automations. Customers with Horizon subscription licenses are entitled to the new and improved Horizon Cloud at no additional charge. VMware will also introduce VMware Horizon Managed Desktop – a flexible, cloud-hosted service that delivers fully-managed virtual desktops and apps with choice of deployment options: on-premises, hybrid or public cloud. This will better enable secure access for a distributed workforce for wherever work takes them. The solution relieves IT teams from time-consuming operations, provides cost-management with predictable OpEx spending, speeds deployments for faster time to value, and rapidly scales to meet changing workforce demands. Additionally, Google and VMware are collaborating to bring access to any app on any device for the hybrid workforce. Organizations will be able to use hundreds of certified endpoints to connect to Horizon virtual desktops and apps. And now, with Google Chromebook as a validated endpoint, industries like healthcare can benefit from delivering a great user experience for more secure access to corporate resources. “We rely on VMware Horizon to support access to corporate resources for our employees,” said Yehoshua Israel, IT director, Aperion Care, Inc. “In conversation with the Google product team, we learned that ChromeOS is a good fit to connect to Horizon for our environment, and our time from unboxing to ready for deployment is about three minutes. Using a managed guest session, the ChromeOS system is simple to use, locked down, HIPAA-compliant, and inexpensive. The transition from Windows-based laptops to Chromebooks with Horizon has been seamless.” Digital Employee Experience VMware is broadening the coverage of its Digital Employee Experience solutions beyond Workspace ONE UEM managed devices to now include VMware Horizon and third-party managed and unmanaged devices. This will result in increased support of remote, hybrid and frontline personas. And, to support the rising number of devices used by frontline employees, VMware is introducing a Digital Employee Experience Management (DEEM) solutions pack for customers with frontline deployments. These out-of-the box dashboards span ROI, shared-device usage, device loss, critical application performance, and more, to measure and improve mission-critical deployments. Finally, VMware Workspace ONE is introducing DEEM Guided Root Cause Analysis capabilities. With the increase in hybrid work, organizations have struggled to scale the helpdesk to support more devices, apps, and networks. With this new feature, machine learning algorithms will help IT correlate all the relevant data points to recommend possible causes with probability assigned; enabling IT to solve issues more quickly, create automations to prevent other users from experiencing the issue, and restore productivity for impacted employees. Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) VMware continues to roll out advanced UEM capabilities now supporting multi-platform automation and orchestration with the expansion of Workspace ONE Freestyle Orchestrator to mobile devices and third-party apps. Freestyle Orchestrator – a modern, no-/low-code automation framework in UEM – provides support for Windows and Mac desktop operating systems. Since its launch, the tool has seen a significant adoption with more than 26 million automation runs that are designed to help IT teams eliminate complex and manual configurations tasks. Freestyle Orchestrator continues to offer administrators the flexibility to create these automation workflows to fit specific process requirements for their organization, and now with the extended platform support, expected to further increase IT efficiency and productivity. VMware is also driving innovation by adding platform breadth of support and depth of management in its industry-recognized UEM solution. Additional UEM enhancements now include availability of multi-user mode for Windows OS – a use case that has seen significant adoption in both frontline shared use and in-office device loaner or hoteling scenarios as employees return to work. VMware is also announcing availability in this quarter of a distribution-agnostic Linux endpoint solution, XR Hub for AR/VR devices; and Tech Previews of its next-gen Windows Update management, support for new Chrome OS APIs for Education, work profile on Android AMAPI, and a dynamic, data-driven UI for iOS and Windows day-1 new policy support. Workspace Security Earlier this year, VMware announced a key innovation in the form of Workspace ONE Mobile Threat Defense [read press release]. Today’s mobile threat landscape is diverse, and mobile workstyles call for specialized protection from phishing and application, device, and rogue network originated threats. ExpressVPN launches industry's first hardware product, Aircove a Wi-Fi 6 router with built-in VPN protection

ExpressVPN | September 23, 2022

Leading consumer privacy and security company ExpressVPN today announces its first foray into hardware products with the launch of ExpressVPN Aircove. Aircove is the first and only Wi-Fi 6 router that comes with built-in VPN by default and a user interface tailored for those seeking to protect their families with a VPN. With Aircove, users can enjoy holistic home security easily, with VPN protection straight out of the box. "The average US home now has 25 devices connected to the home Wi-Fi network.[1] From laptops to smart TVs, things add up quickly and it becomes more difficult to keep track and know that every device is protected. That's why we built Aircove, to provide users with simple, flexible VPN-protected internet connection across every room, on every device, for every household member," Harold Li, vice president, ExpressVPN According to a recent study, 98% of all IoT device traffic is unencrypted, potentially allowing attackers to easily extract personal and confidential data.[2] With its easy setup, Aircove lets users protect and encrypt every device in their home within minutes. This includes smart TVs, voice assistants, and other IoT devices that aren't usually compatible with VPN software. Aircove was designed with user privacy and security as a top priority. For example, users can share their home Wi-Fi network with their visitors simply by scanning a QR code—no password sharing required. Aircove also has an auto update feature so that users always have the latest features and security enhancements to keep their network safe and secure. ExpressVPN also invited cybersecurity firm Cure53 to conduct a penetration test and source code audit of Aircove prior to the launch. The test was conducted in June and July 2022. Aircove uses Wi-Fi 6 for faster and more reliable wireless connectivity, which permits speeds up to 1,200 Mbps (600 Mbps for 2.4GHz and 1,200 Mbps for 5GHz). It covers homes up to 1,600 square feet and is available for sale in the U.S.A. on Amazon from today, at a special launch price of $169 (usual price $189). This means no more router flashing—VPN protection comes straight out of the box. Better price: 1 in 3 of ExpressVPN's router app users spend at least US$250 on a VPN-compatible router. Aircove delivers an even better product and experience at a more accessible price point. "We are reinventing digital home protection with Aircove's plug-and-play simplicity. It delivers our award-winning software in an easy-to-use router device, and we're excited to provide users with another way to leverage the best of ExpressVPN for their entire home," Li said. Aircove is available now on Amazon at the special launch price of $169 for a limited time, while stock lasts (UP: $189.90).
