Telechips buys Imagination PowerVR Series9XTP

fudzilla | June 18, 2019

Fabless chip marker Telechips has bought Imagination Technologies PowerVR Series9XTP tech for use in its in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) and vehicle cockpit solutions.Leanne Lee, Future Strategy Group Leader, Telechips, said We selected Imaginations PowerVR Series9XTP GPUs for two reasons PowerVRs extensive history and experience in the automotive industry and its GPU virtualization capabilities. We needed a vendor that understood the unique challenges faced by the automotive market, and that offered a cost-efficient, flexible and futureproof solution, with the robustness needed for the target market. We found all of that in PowerVR and we look forward to collaborating with them on other automotive-focused projects in the future. The hardware virtualisation capabilities of the PowerVR architecture means it can host multiple operating systems (OS) using a single GPU core with no performance impact. Imaginations virtualisation tech apparently meets the automotives industry reliability criteria.

Introducing Meshnet - NordVPN’s New Feature

NordVPN | June 28, 2022

NordVPN has unveiled Meshnet, a unique new feature that will enable users to connect directly to other devices rather than routing their data through a VPN server, cementing the company's position as an industry leader. “Whereas a traditional NordVPN connection redirects your internet traffic through servers, Meshnet lets you create your own NordVPN server, made up of only your own or your friends' devices, regardless of their location. All that’s needed is a NordVPN subscription,” says Vykintas Maknickas, product strategist at NordVPN. “This feature release is a gamechanger and will truly transform how our users utilize NordVPN. Our product team has been working relentlessly for the past few years, which really began with the development of our flagship technology — NordLynx — the bedrock behind Meshnet that allows us to provide amplified privacy solutions without sacrificing industry leading speed,” Vykintas Maknickas, product strategist at NordVPN To use Meshnet, users must first update their NordVPN app and ensure that they are linked through the NordLynx protocol, after which they can switch it on in the NordVPN app and connect up to 10 personal and/or 50 external devices. NordVPN is a subsidiary of Nord Security. Nord Security is confident in its ability to become an all-around cybersecurity solution. In addition to NordVPN, the cybersecurity firm offers three more market-leading products: NordPass, a next-generation password manager; NordLocker, an encrypted cloud storage solution; and NordLayer, an advanced network access security solution for organizations.

Infortrend Powers Up Scale-Out Unified Storage EonStor GS U.2

Infortrend | May 31, 2022

Infortrend Technology, Inc., a market-leading enterprise storage supplier, has enhanced EonStor GS U.2, an enterprise scale-out unified storage system with U.2 NVMe SSD. It provides block and file-level scale-out extensibility to boost capacity and performance as storage requirements rise. The EonStor GS (GS) unified SAN/NAS storage is intended for a variety of corporate applications such as database, virtualization, video post-production, and file sharing. It provides excellent capacity and performance in a variety of ways. Users can begin with one GS and add other GS as required to establish a cluster with up to four appliances through scale-out. GS supports the common ultra-fast U.2 SSD and boosts performance up to 1000K IOPS and 22GB/s per appliance to improve data processing with high IOPS and low latency. GS offers a single namespace for CIFS and NFS user access from Windows, Linux, and macOS. IT administration can be simplified even further with auto-balancing, which ensures that data is stored equitably on each GS in a cluster. IT personnel may save money by expanding all-flash U.2 GS with HDD JBOD and letting the auto-tiering technology move 'hot' and 'cold' data between high-performance SSD and cost-effective HDD. For forward-looking enterprises seeking a competitive and cost-saving solution, we updated GS unified storage with support of scale-out expandability and U.2 SSD. Users can connect several GS into a cluster with optimized load balancing, increased I/Os, and tight data protection." Frank Lee, Senior Director of Product Planning Infortrend has revamped its 2022 Reseller Partnership Program to assist partners in increasing expertise and profitability. Partners enjoy special benefits like deal registration with price protection, access to demo machines, and much more.

VMware to Introduce Novel vSan+ and vSphere+ Solutions

VMware | June 29, 2022

VMware, a U.S.-based cloud computing and virtualization technology company, announced the introduction of VMware vSAN+ and VMware vSphere+ to assist organizations in extending hybrid cloud services on-premises, simplifying operations with centralized structures, and increasing developer speed with integrated Kubernetes. Launched as a technology preview named Project Arctic at VMworld 2021, these novel solutions help enterprises bring the benefits of the cloud to their existing on-premises infrastructure by providing a flexible subscription model, access to new hybrid cloud services, and centralized cloud-based infrastructure management. "VMware vSphere+ and VMware vSAN+ represent the next major evolution of those foundational solutions that customers know and trust." He added, "Wherever customers are on their digital transformation journey and in executing their cloud strategy, vSphere+ and vSAN+ will help accelerate their transformation by bringing the benefits of cloud to their existing on-premises infrastructure and workloads, along with simplified consumption via a flexible subscription model." Krish Prasad, senior vice president and general manager for VMware Cloud Platform Business, Cloud Infrastructure Business Group, VMware VMware vSAN+ and VMware vSphere+ are critical parts of the VMware Cloud strategy to provide compatible infrastructure with value-added proficiencies across distributed environments. These solutions allow organizations to activate add-on hybrid cloud services. Gary Chen, IDC Research Director, Software Defined Compute, mentioned, "The transformation of on-premises infrastructure with cloud services is an emerging modernization trend that IDC is seeing draw significant interest from enterprises." He also said, "By enabling the ubiquitous datacenter hypervisor with cloud services, users will be able to onboard innovative capabilities that can be delivered immediately and fully managed from the cloud to address a broad range of pain points such as management efficiency, scale-out Kubernetes operations, and DR. The future possibilities of this delivery model, such as with vSphere+ and vSAN+, are endless and can be a key tool for enterprises to modernize their existing infrastructure quickly with minimal burden." "VMware vSphere+ blurs the line between on-premises and cloud," stated Vishal Gupta, CIO for Lexmark. "The combination of cloud operating model with familiar toolsets will be a big win for us."
