NSX-V to NSX-T Migration - No Downtime

This presentation and demo will include explanation and demonstration of virtual machine migration from NSX-V to NSX-T without any downtime of the VMs. cITopus VM Migration Utility will be demonstrated for live migration of VMs from NSX-V to NSX-T. Such operation is possible using an NSX-T Bridge, which can be deployed into NSX-V using a point-n-click wizard from cITopus. When virtual machines are migrated along with the Gateway, the VMs will experience a small outage (usually less than 15 seconds) for the gateway switchover from NSX-V to NSX-T. cITopus VM Migration Utility creates everything that the virtual machines need, including segments, ateways, micro-segmentation, vCenter Tags, Temporary IPSETs and Groups in source and destination to minimize downtime and eliminate manual tasks. The presentation will also include content on migrating virtual machines live from on-premises environments to cloud environments i.e. VMC and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

NSX-V to NSX-T Migration - In-Place Network Virtualization

This presentation and demo include NSX-V to NSX-T Migration of Network Virtualization using cITopus In-Place Migration Utility. cITopus, NSX-V to NSX-T Migration tool, allows migration of 1 to many vCenter Clusters from NSX-V to NSX-T. cITopus automatically removes the NSX-V VIBs, installs NSX-T VIBs, creates NSX-T specific networks and micro-segmentation and migrates the VMs from NSX-V to NSX-T. cITopus also configures temporary IPSETs in NSX-V and groups in NSX-T to allow east west firewall rules to function normally for traffic between vms managed by NSX-V and NSX-T. In-Place migrations from NSX-V to NSX-T can be performed live without experiencing any virtual machine outages for some use cases. SPJ Solutions will share real-world example of how the live migration was performed without any VM outage for 1000s of VMs migrated from NSX-V to NSX-T using cITopus In-Place Migration Utility.

This presentation and demo will include the migration of NSX-V Native Load Balancer (HA-Proxy) to AVI. The migration will include the migration of Load Balancer configurations including Virtual Servers, Server Pool, Pool Members, Application Profiles, and Services (Protocol/Port). cITopus, NSX Automation and Management tool, will be used for this demonstration. cITopus AVI Deployment Utility automatically deploys and configures AVI Controllers, and Service engines. cITopus also configures the Service Engines with NSX-T routers to build One-Armed load balancer topology. cITopus also migrates NSX-V load balancer configurations to AVI.
