Interfaith Uses Virtualization to Secure Health Data, Medical Devices

New York-based Interfaith Medical Center (IMC) is using virtualization to enable a zero-trust security model that protects its health data, apps, and medical devices. This allows the health system’s small security team to more effectively defend against emerging threats, using network micro-segmentation, application control, and behavioral monitoring. The zero-trust model refer to a security concept that assumes actors, systems, and services operating within the security perimeter should not be automatically trusted. Instead, everyone and everything trying to connect to internal systems needs to be verified before access is granted. Zero Trust uses micro-segmentation and granular perimeter enforcement based on users, their locations, and other data to determine whether to trust a user, machine, or application seeking access to a part of the enterprise.
