Deutsche Telekom Taps VMware for Disaster Recovery

Deutsche Telekom today rolled out vCloud Availability, VMware’s disaster-recovery-as-a-service platform, to its Dynamic Services for Infrastructure (DSI).The company says the new disaster recovery service offers its customers a simple, secure, and cost-effective onboarding, migration, and disaster recovery service for multi-tenant, VMware clouds. Deutsche Telekom claims to be the first European service provider to receive certification to offer VMware’s disaster recovery service.“With VMware vCloud Availability on DSI vCloud we offer our clients a service that is unique in the market,” said Frank Strecker, senior VP of cloud computing and big data at Deutsche Telekom, in a statement. “In our capacity as a cloud integrator, we are making it as easy as possible for our customers to use cloud services in a secure manner.”
