Oracle Database Performance: VMWARE Cloud on AWS

July 12, 2018

VMware Cloud™ on AWS lets customers easily run their applications in virtual machines on Amazon’s cloud infrastructure. Customers have successfully run their business-critical applications with high performance demands on VMware vSphere for many years. It is now possible to do the same thing on AWS infrastructure in the cloud. This allows customers to deploy a complete vSphere environment, ready in hours; including servers, storage, networking, monitoring, and administration. The vSphere environment on AWS is deployed on physical infrastructure, whichmeans that performance is essentially the same as that of a similar environment setup in an onsite datacenter.

In a society moving towards digital, where access to data in almost real time is key to every single industry sector, Public Safety (PS) services are seen as laggers when it comes to take most of the technology available to enable agencies and emergency services to benefit the best information available. By relying in voicecentric technologies, Public Safety services cannot support themselves for instance on simple video-based use cases, which would leverage decision making processes with insightful information that could for example make a difference between life and death.
