Secure Virtual Network Configuration for Virtual Machine (VM) Protection

A data center with virtualized hosts is said to have a virtualized infrastructure. The hypervisor inside each virtualized host can define a network that links its VMs with each other and to the outside (physical) enterprise network. This network is called a virtual network since it is entirely software-defined. The core components of this virtual network are one or more virtual network interface cards (vNICs) inside each VM, and virtual switches defined to operate inside the hypervisor kernel. The virtual switches, in turn, are connected to the physical network interface cards (pNICs) of the virtualized host. This provides a communication path for applications and guest OS instances running inside VMs to interact with computing and storage elements on the data center’s physical network.

SD-WAN vs SASE

whitePaper | August 15, 2022

Security is a fundamental requirement for all enterprise-level technologies. The pandemic has created a “new normal” dominated by long-distance remote working. This has served to increase reliance on multiple cloud platforms, making connectivity more important than ever. This, however, has also led to an increase in the number of threats and attacks. For this reason, businesses are strongly advised to transform their WANs and security architectures

Accelerate your hybrid cloud migration with Google Cloud VMware Engine

whitePaper | November 23, 2022

The pandemic put strong pressures on organizations to modernize their infrastructure. The sudden rush of remote workers using virtual desktop infrastructure has resulted in surges and strains within current IT infrastructure. Organizations then were faced with a difficult choice: continue operations with slow, and at times insufficient capacity to support its workers, or upgrade their IT infrastructure. Upgrading IT infrastructure provides its own challenges: on-prem upgrades are an expensive endeavor and a considerable effort must be put into provisioning the right amount of hardware. Under-provisioning could potentially result in disruptions to operations and over-provisioning would result in wasted expenses. The other option is migrating to the cloud, which although does allow for elasticity with provisioning, does have challenges in the massive, timeand resource-intensive process of replacing legacy systems with cloud-based SaaS enterprise software.

So many ways to WAN

whitePaper | August 16, 2022

Software-defined WAN (SD-WAN) is an application-aware service that intelligently routes traffic in real time based on established business policies, along with network quality and availability. SD-WAN is used to connect multiple locations in a network to each other, to a data center, to applications and data in the cloud, or to SaaS platforms. Leveraging multiple, cost-effective access types at each location in an active-active configuration, an SD-WAN network routes application traffic over the best-performing network elements in real time and ensures automated failover for resiliency.

5G Virtual Private Networks for Electric Power White Paper:Network Security

whitePaper | November 21, 2022

5G is now entering diverse industries, including the electric power industry. 5G technologies can be adopted in the electric power industry to quicken the industry's digital and intelligent transformation, which will provide strong support for building a clean, secure, efficient, and lowcarbon electric power system. However, before widely applying 5G technologies in the industry, we must address current network security issues. Network security is at the basis of digital transformation and the industry has put forward the security protection principle "secure partitioning, exclusive network use, horizontal isolation,
