GPU Virtualization and Scheduling Methods A Comprehensive Survey

October 5, 2017

For more than a decade, high performance computing (HPC) programmers and researchers have adopted a new computing paradigm that combines two architectures: namely multi-core processors with powerful and general-purpose cores, and many-core accelerators, the leading example of which is graphics processing units (GPUs), with a massive number of simple cores that accelerate algorithms with a high degree of data parallelism. Despite an increasing number of cores, multi-core processor designs still aim at reducing latency in sequential programs by using sophisticated control logic and large cache memories. Conversely, GPUs seek to boost the execution throughput of parallel applications with thousands of simple cores and a high memory bandwidth architecture.

Virtualization is the Present and Future of Mobile Networks

whitePaper | June 15, 2022

The future of mobile networks will be software-centric, and Samsung is leading the way to transforming how wireless networks are designed and implemented using virtualization. The hardware-centric approach for network development, using vendor-specific hardware designs, has remained static for decades. That model is unable to keep up with the fast-changing world of today’s telecommunication services.
